I’m on sabbatical for the 2nd half of 2019 – I’m working on some research projects, attending conferences and 2 exciting new roles in which I can support the accounting profession. The first is the honour of being chosen as one of 2 inaugural Academic Scholars at the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. I’m working with AUASB staff to develop resources related to improving the public’s understanding of assurance and audit and how auditors can support audit quality. The latter topic is quite a timely one given the announcement in early August of a parliamentary inquiry into audit quality. My
